James Casey is Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs. He is responsible for the direction and management of all pre-award and non-financial post award grant and contract administration operations. The implementation of Cayuse SP (Sponsored Projects) software is a high research area priority right now. A Life Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, Mr. Casey received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) for his contributions to the field of research administration. He has written a number of articles, book chapters, and books covering a broad spectrum of topics, including research administration, law, public policy, and construction engineering management. Beyond his 20+ years in research administration, Mr. Casey is a licensed attorney in Wisconsin and currently serves on the State Bar of Wisconsin Executive Committee and as Immediate Past President of their Nonresident Lawyers Division. Past university affiliations include: Marquette University, Northwestern University, and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. In 2007 - 08 he was a Visiting Professor of Leadership at the Upper Iowa University - Hong Kong campus. He is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, Wisconsin Bar, NCURA, AAAS, and the American Bar Association. He is always available to talk to faculty and staff about sponsored research and building their sponsored research portfolio.
